Cool mist is more expensive and also requires frequent replacement of filters which are also expensive. Evaporators is cheaper and require little maintenance, but could be a hazard for the little ones. If you’re on budget and you can safely place the humidifer out of reach of your baby, evaporators would be the logical choice. If you live in style, get the cool mist.
Well I purchased a evaportive humidifier…big mistake, the steam is hot and your kids can get burned. I recommend you getting a cool mist. It puts the moisture in the the air without being dangerous.
well when buying both you have to watch out for mold… when you buy the ones that you full the water taks up with water, mold tends to grow under the tanks where standing water sitts… i have a vaporizer that does hot water…but my daughter is only 5 months old.. so not in danger of burns yet.. but i will have to keep it somewhere safe in a few months….but just watch for mold in whatever you buy! good luck!
